The Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates Winter Variety Auction contains a true diversity of material and will include everything from antique marbles and vintage movie posters to country furniture and silver coins. The 1,208-lot auction will take place over two days, Friday, February 17, 2018 and Saturday, February 17, 2018 with absentee, phone, internet, and in-house bidding available.

Friday’s session, beginning at 1:00 pm, should start the weekend off with a bang and features part one of the 65-year collection of Barbara Sisson, Charleston, WV. One portion of the Sisson collection includes over 500 antique marbles, including many excellent swirl, onionskin, and sulphide examples, all as-found and fresh to the market. The other portion of the Sisson collection includes a massive hoard of American coins, including gold pieces, over 2,000 silver dollars, large quantities of other silver coins, &c. Wrapping up the Friday session will be the Col. Frederick Hornick, Hedgesville, WV collection of 300+ pieces of Blenko glass, including rare vintage examples and modern limited edition pieces.

Saturday’s session, beginning at 9:30 am, should prove to be equally exciting and features country furniture and accessories; Victorian and stack bookcases; a collection of 20th-century American illustration art and other artwork; country store and advertising including spool cabinets; music boxes; vintage railroad signage and memorabilia; early wrought iron; a large selection of Civil War letters and other historical material, including a collection of clipped signatures; other signatures including Thomas Edison; a good selection of early photographic images and Union cases; manuscript material including the Rinker family of Shenandoah Co., VA; archival material including the Sessford family of Washington, DC; a collection of vintage post cards; a large selection of antique clocks; a collection of opera glasses; ceramics including a collection of antique carpet balls, flow blue, art pottery, beer steins, &c.; a large assortment of silver and jewelry; plus more.
