WINSTON CHURCHILL TYPED LETTER SIGNED, on his personal Hyde Park Gate letterhead, from his London residence, December 16, 1955, to Mr. George M. Cochran of Staunton, VA, "Dear Sir, I am much obliged to you for your letter of December 5, suggesting that I should record a message for the Wilson Centennial Celebration. It is with regret that I must decline. Since my retirement I am undertaking as few engagements as possible and I have no doubt that you will understand that if I were to record a message on this occasion I would risk giving offence in other cases in which I have been unable to accept. Please, however, convey my warm thanks to the Woodrow Wilson Centennial Commission for their thought of me. Yours very truly, (signed) Winston S. Churchill." Housed under glass in a modern frame.
