STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SOUP TUREEN AND UNDERTRAY, each having mulberry transfer, comprising a tureen featuring Little Falls at Luzerne, Hudson River, depicting rushing waterfalls and structures, and a tray featuring "Picturesque Views / Penitentiary / in Allegheny / Nr Pittsburgh Pa", as printed to underside, depicting a Norman-style building with cupola and figures on street in foreground. Additional marks to underside include tray having impressed crown.

Condition: Tureen mostly undamaged, having very faint "X" hairline to interior that does not appear to go through to exterior; cover and tray having some areas of professional restoration.

Circa : 1814-1834.
