J.P. MEILLIER & CIE. "AURORA" COPPERPLATE-PRINTED TOILE FABRIC PANEL, three joined panels with later stitching, lower third with depiction after Guido Reni (Italian, 1575-1642) of Aurora, the goddess of dawn, leading Apollo in a chariot as he pulls the sun across the sky, surrounded by female figures known as "Hours", above featuring various pictorial vignettes including a ship, a figure playing a harp and riding a dolphin fish, a desert scene with elephants, and a monoteros with harp to center, a pegasus jumping off a rock, and two rows of trees lining the sides, lower edge having printed label of "J.P. Meillier & Ce. De Beautiran / pres Bordeaux. Bon Teint."

Condition: Good to very good visual condition with light toning, some scattered stains, holes and tears with a few mends, two end edges unfinished.

Circa : Early 19th century.
