ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF TWO, each standing on square base, having polychrome enamel decorations, and decorated in the round, comprising Ceres holding a large cornucopia/horn of plenty overflowing with flowers, and Hygeia wearing a floral-sprigged dress, a flaming altar on her left side, a snake entwined around her left arm, and holding a ewer in her right hand, open-bottomed.

Condition: Ceres having some flakes to base, mostly minor, and some scattered glaze flakes; Hygeia having some restoration to ewer, two minor flakes to base, and scattered losses to enamel decorations. Manufacturing flaws including firing separations, as made.

Circa : Late 18th/first quarter 19th century.
