ASA BLANCHARD, LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY COIN SILVER JULEP CUP / BEAKER, tapered cylindrical form with reeded border around the rim and foot, period engraved "S[or J]BW" initials to one side above later "May 3rd 1837" engraving, other side with later engraving of "E.C.W. / 1893". Base impressed with "BLANCHARD" for or Asa Blanchard (Blansett/Blancett) of Lexington, KY (active 1806-1838), who also worked in Dumfries, VA (active 1789-1806). Total weight: 4.830 ozt.

Condition : Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, nicks, and dents, rim slightly out of round.

Circa : Circa 1830.
